Attributions speaks with Anjal Prakash about the Indian elections in the context of climate change and public policy.

Anjal is an Associate Professor and Research Director at the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at the Indian School of Business, whose work focuses on climate change, water, gender issues and urban resilience in South Asia.

Anjal has also worked across several areas, including issues related to Himalayan water and resilience, snowpack, and glacier-dependent river basins. He’s actively involved with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as the coordinating lead author for the Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate.

We cover many topics, including how India is fairing with climate change impacts in 2024, water issues in the Himalayas, the current Indian elections and political chatter on climate change by major Parties, why adaptation to climate change impacts will be important for India, and whether political Parties are taking into account gender issues related to climate change.
